i’ve seen a lot about the mbc drama but i haven’t seen anything on here about what happened at the ellen show. so i will share. fans at the show said on twitter (source, source) that ellen’s team went through the 100s of armys that waited in line and chose young, pretty girls to go in to see them, despite the fact that people from all demographics had queued for hours. apparently one girl’s mum wasn’t allowed in despite being an army (i think she was a jin stan?). so basically, ellen’s team chose which fans could enter to ensure that all inside fit the ‘stereotypical bts fan’ narrative. because america still doesn’t care about bts, just about their ‘crazy fans.’

I bet it was the same with the Backstreet boys and the Beatles. This is the what the media wants to show everyone and that’s why no one takes Boygroups (kpop or not) seriously sadly
